vitaly kolesnik

My name is Vitaly Kolesnik. I am the founder of Dextera Development, a Czech company focused on human development.

My main areas of professional interest are productivity, creativity, perception, learning and design. Between my personal interests are Western philosophy and Eastern practices, like bujutsu, ayurveda, and feng shui. Besides Russian, I speak French, English, Czech, and Italian.

I am a Russian living in Czech Republic. During different periods of my life, I was an amateur actor, a Robotron operator, a Soviet Army soldier, a news-vendor, a theological college graduate, a newspaper’s publisher, a big bank employee, a freelance designer, a creative director, a business trainer, a creativity consultant, a blogger and a statup founder. The only thing I was doing constantly throughout my life is learning.

Besides this blog, I run several other projects, including Omega Mapping, a framework for idea development, Catena, a game for developing creative thinking, and several projects for Russian-speaking audience.

The blog

It’s called Second Sight due to many reasons. The most obvious of them comes from the way we learn: there is always space for a second, better try, as we go from mere imitation to mastery. Then, there is a second reason: I believe that one of the most needed skills in life is the skill of seeing through current patterns of perception — a sort of second sight. So, this blog is about real as opposed to apparent. The entire concept is fully covered here.
